Oral history interview with Peter James Guzman conducted by Claytee D. White on September 10, 2018 for the Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, Guzman discusses his family's history and shares his father’s emigration story from Cuba to the United States. He recalls growing up in Las Vegas, Nevada, attending Chaparral High School, living on 28th Street and Bonanza, and his career in real estate. Lastly, Guzman talks about his role as President of the Latin Chamber of Commerce, Vice Chairman of Hope for Prisoners, and Vice Chairman of Workforce Connection.

Oral history interview with Mario Sandoval conducted by Claytee D. White on December 06, 2018 for the Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, Sandoval discusses his mother’s emigration story to the United States from Mexico and arriving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1968. He recalls his first memories of the city, living on the Westside, and segregation at the time. Sandoval talks about his employment at the Hilton Hotel at the age of sixteen and other hotels on the Strip. Lastly, Sandoval discusses Fremont Street from the 1970s to 1990s, changes in downtown Las Vegas, and his experience as a member of the Culinary Workers Union.

Oral history interview with Bill and Jim Mason conducted by Stefani Evans on March 15, 2017 for the Building Las Vegas Oral History Project and the Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project. In this interview, Bill and Jim discuss their upbringing in Las Vegas, Nevada. They talk about their Jewish heritage, attending Kit Carson Sixth Grade Center, and their participation at Temple Beth Sholom. Bill and Jim recall working for their father’s construction company, Taylor Construction, some of the construction projects they were involved in, and taking ownership of the company in 1999. Lastly, Bill and Jim describe the growth of the Jewish community in Las Vegas.

Oral history interview with Wendy Starkweather conducted by Claytee D. White on April 9, 2021 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. Wendy Starkweather (born 1949) served as the public face of Lied Library 20 years ago when the building was first constructed. She discusses her time at Lied Library with specific references to her most memorable moments and her favorite aspects of the library's architecture. Wendy also talks about her retirement from UNLV in 2010 and how she has kept busy in recent years by traveling, reading, and participating in the political arena. Subjects discussed include: Lied Library, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, and Book Clubs.

Oral history interview with Patsy and Marshal Taylor conducted by Claytee D. White on December 17, 2018 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Patsy discusses her upbringing in Lovelock, Nevada and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1963. She remembers the city at the time and attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Marshal talks about his employment at the Nevada Test Site, and joining the City of North Las Vegas as a park planner and grant writer. Lastly, Patsy and Marshal describe early movie theaters, curfews for teenagers, and early ambulance services.

Oral history interview with Marilyn Armstrong and Brenda Williams conducted by Claytee D. White on April 13, 2021 for African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project.

Marilyn Armstrong discusses her employment history becoming a beautician and business owner in Las Vegas, Nevada. She also talks of her husband's decision to start the Ray and Ross Bus Company, the largest transportation firm in the state in the 1950s and 1960s, and what it was like growing up in the Westside community. Finally, she mentions the businesses that flourished on Jackson Avenue, inlcuding her mother's beauty shop.

Peter also talks of his early life, university studies, and professional career that led him to Las Vegas, along with his thoughts on what the future holds for UNLV's Special Collections and Archives.
