Oral history interview with Cranford Crawford conducted by Claytee D. White on May 27, 2016 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview Crawford discusses his early life and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1964. He talks about his involvement with the Las Vegas branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), working with African American community leaders, and the consent decree of 1971 alleging a series of violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Crawford describes his career with the Clark County Department of Family Services (DFS), issues of segregation in Las Vegas, and being involved with Les Femmes Douze (The Ladies Twelve). Lastly, Crawford discusses Las Vegas government, school integration, and becoming a Freemason.

Oral history interview with Eugenia and Elijah Green conducted by Claytee D. White on January 20, 2017 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Elijah discusses his upbringing in Las Vegas, Nevada and growing up in the Westside. He recalls his father’s employment at the Basic Magnesium Plant, attending the Westside School, and the recreational activities he participated in as a young adult. Elijah talks about becoming a card dealer, his employment at the El Morocco Motel, and the businesses on Jackson Street. Eugenia describes moving to Las Vegas in 1975, her initial reaction to the city, and nightlife entertainment at the time. Later, Elijah talks about leaving work on the Westside to be a card dealer on the Strip. Lastly, Elijah and Eugenia discuss the future of Westside businesses.

Oral history interview with Franzine Jasper conducted by Claytee D. White on September 20, 2017 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Jasper discusses her early life in Brooklyn, New York. She recalls becoming a nurse, moving to Henderson, Nevada in 1987, and her employment at a nursing home. Jasper remembers the Pacific Engineering and Production Company of Nevada (PEPCON) explosion, and describes the damage caused in that area. Later, Jasper discusses joining the faculty at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN), becoming the Chair of the nursing department, and later becoming Provost for the North Las Vegas campus. Lastly, Jasper talks about teaching courses at CSN, and the increase of English as a second language (ESL) students at CSN.

The KLVX Steamboats on the Colorado Records consist of documents related to the production of Las Vegas' channel 10's (KLVX) Steamboats on the Colorado documentary between 1974 and 1976. The collection is comprised of correspondence, promotional materials, scripts, a treatment, a grant application, maps of the Colorado River from 1852 and other materials used as research for the documentary.

The Young Audiences New York, Nevada Humanities Collection dates from 1960 to 1982 and chronicles the chapter’s efforts to bring music education to students from kindergarden through high school of the Clark County School District in Nevada. The collection contains accounting records, performance reviews, grant applications, correspondence, and employee information. The collection also contains performance announcements, newspaper clippings, and students’ thank-you letters.

The Daughters of Union Veterans (DUV) of the Civil War, Las Vegas, Nevada Records comprise various materials from the organization ranging from the years 1861 to 1970, with a bulk of the material dating from 1948 to 1954. The contents consist of a scrapbook of memorabilia and newspaper clippings, magazine articles profiling the Grand Army of the Republic, reissues of Harper’s Weekly from 1861, and the correspondence and ephemera of Henrietta Denny.

The Thomas McLaughlin Papers (1937-1985) are comprised of newspaper clippings, photographs, and correspondence about real estate, the Clark County Democratic Party, and local fraternal organizations, especially the Knights of Columbus and the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in Las Vegas, Nevada. Materials also include some clippings on McLaughlin's appointment as trustee of the Las Vegas Park Racetrack in 1955.
