The Staley Family Photograph Collection on Beatty, Nevada is comprised of photographs of Beatty, Nevada from approximately 1938 to 1944. Photographs depict the Staley family, their family home, and the family-run El Portal Motel in Beatty.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal Photograph Collection depicts several events in Las Vegas, Nevada from 1935 to 1983 that were documented by Nevada’s largest newspaper, the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The photographs depict the fire at the Las Vegas School in 1935, the fire at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in 1980, an exhibition at the Lost City Museum in 1973, a memorial event honoring the first permanent school in Las Vegas in 1980, and an exhibition at the Nevada State Museum and Historical Society in 1983. The collection also contains photographs of some denizens of Las Vegas, including people at the Hughes Bar in Las Vegas, the last Union Pacific passenger train in Las Vegas, and schoolchildren at the Las Vegas School.
The Beverly Rogers Collection of Armed Services Editions includes one thousand two hundred and seventy-nine of the original paperback Armed Services Edition titles published between 1943 and 1947 used by World War II service members in the United States Army and Navy, as well as four editions from the Legacy Project published in 2003 and one from the Pocket Books Inc. series published in 1944. The original Armed Services Editions include works of fiction and non-fiction in their unabridged forms.
The John Hamilton Collection on Keno Pay Charts (1958-1991) contains keno slips, pay out charts, and odds calculation sheets from 168 casinos in Nevada. There is also a small amount of other materials such as napkins and placemats.
The Lisle Family Collection on Education in Beatty, Nevada, is comprised of photocopies of school records and correspondence from 1933 to 1948. It also includes an official voting register from the 1914 Beatty primary election. The photocopies were created approximately 1950.
The Louise Meehan Photograph Collection on the Boulder Club contains three black-and-white photographs of the Boulder Club in Las Vegas, Nevada from 1953. The photographs capture part of the interior of the club and showcase its slot machines, bar, and card room.
