Description

A postcard of the Grant Party at the mines in Virginia City, Nevada October 28, 1879. The people in the photo are identified on the postcard as: Mr. J.W. Mackay, Mrs. M.G. Gillette, Mr. U.S. Grant Jr., Mrs. U.S. Grant, General U.S. Grant, S. Yamada, Mrs. J.G. Fair, Governor J.H. Kinkead, and Colonel J.G. Fair. The postcard is stamped July 1, 1930 in Carson City, Nevada. The postcard's inscription reads, "Hello Pals, saw Mary and Glenn yesterday, they both are fine. Hope you are both well and doing a big business. Regards to family, Busher." It was addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Stocker Las Vegas, Nevada Northern Hotel.
