Oral history interview with Ava Carino conducted by Isabelle Rice on November 20, 2021 for the Reflections: The Las Vegas Asian American and Pacific Islander Oral History Project. Oral history interview with Joe Carlson conducted by Allen Carlson on October 11, 1972 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Joe Carlson talks about how his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1921 so that his father could work on the railroad. Joe discusses education, occupations, family life, and the social, economic and environmental changes of early Las Vegas. Joe also mentions presidential visits, the crash of Carole Lombard’s plane, early atomic tests, the old Mesquite forests, Fremont Street and the building of Boulder (Hoover) Dam.

Oral history interviews with Julia Payne conducted by Claytee D. White on February 11, 2004 and March 07, 2004 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In the first interview, Payne discusses arriving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1961. She describes discrimination, redlining on the Westside, and recalls the lack of integration at the time. Payne then discusses Jackson Street and compares it to the Las Vegas Strip. Lastly, Payne talks about Cove Hotel, Hank’s Place, Colony Club, and the decline in African American businesses on Jackson Street. In the second interview, Payne discusses welfare rights, changes to the Westside and growth of suburban areas. She describes her employment with the Southern Nevada Drug Abuse Council and becoming the first African American substance abuse counselor. Lastly, Payne discusses her position as Executive Director of Nevada Treatment Center.

Oral history interview with Chris Phipps conducted by Dennis McBride on November 16, 1998 for the Las Vegas Gay Archives Oral History Project. Phipps talks about coming to terms being a gay man in California, being involved with the Apollo Spa and Health center, and becoming a lawyer.

Oral history interview with Fred Anderson conducted by Cortez Corley on April 22, 1986 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Anderson discusses his history of living in Ely, Nevada. Anderson primarily discusses his experiences as a miner working for the Kennecott Copper Corporation. He also mentions his experiences with unions, atomic testing, and the growth of Nevada in general.

Mary Laub oral history interview conducted by Wendy Starkweather on December 2, 2013 for West Charleston Neighborhoods-- An Oral History Project of Ward 1. Mary Laub discussed her move to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1954, her home in Rancho Circle, and career, including her work as founder of the Las Vegas Assistance League.

Oral history interview with Nancy Craddock conducted by George Apfel on March 13, 1976 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview Nancy Craddock discusses moving to Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada with her husband in the 1950s from San Diego, California. She then talks about moving to and building her home in the Twin Lakes area in Las Vegas, her experiences working at Sunrise Hospital, and the Las Vegas Strip. She also discusses the early pioneers of Las Vegas, the formation of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas's library system, and the changing social conditions of Las Vegas.
