Oral history interview with Chet Carrigan conducted by Robert Kahre on February 17, 1981 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Carrigan first talks about his background in construction as well as some of his experiences in the Sheriff’s Posse before describing the major events and changes of Las Vegas, Nevada that he witnessed. Carrigan also talks about his family, the effects of the Great Depression on the city, the flooding problem, and the building of Hoover Dam. He also describes the first schools in Las Vegas, means of transportation, his laundry business, his experience on the volunteer fire department, the first movie theaters, and Cashman Field.

Oral history interview with Ray Ruff conducted by Scott Benjamin on March 13, 1981 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Ruff discusses moving to Las Vegas, Nevada from Chicago, Illinois in 1954. Ruff also discusses his employment and the environment at the Desert Inn Hotel. Ruff later discusses golf and Las Vegas politicians.

Oral history interview with Bruce Layne conducted by Claytee D. White on 2004 June 18, June 29, July 13, and July 20 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Bruce Layne discusses moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1955 at ten years old, his two childhood friends Governor Bob Miller and Tito Tiberti, and becoming president of Layne and Associates, the largest insurance agency in Nevada. He then discusses the growth of Las Vegas, life in Las Vegas, having Parkinson's disease, running for lieutenant governor, and his insurance business.

Oral history interview with John West conducted by Claytee D. White on August 10, 2000 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, West discusses his family background and arriving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1954. West describes his educational experiences in Las Vegas and his career as a clinical psychologist. He recalls his father’s career in medicine and becoming the first African American licensed medical doctor in Las Vegas. West then talks about attending entertainment events before race integration was introduced, and the voting patterns in West Las Vegas. Lastly, West discusses his father’s decision to remain living in West Las Vegas and operating his medical office there after integration.

Oral history interview with Joseph Delaney conducted by Carol Hunter on October 24, 1979 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Joseph Delaney first discusses how Las Vegas, Nevada looked when he first moved to the city in 1961 and the evolution of performance places and the admission processes within the hotels. Delaney also discusses the agreements between the properties and various entertainers for their residencies, while mentioning the entertainers involved with said agreements. Delaney then discusses his career in the entertainment industry.

Oral history interview with Helen Winthrop conducted by Ron Valles on February 20, 1980 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Winthrop discusses her personal history and living in Las Vegas, Nevada. Winthrop describes her family, education, and marriage to her husband. She also describes her recreational activities and places she has traveled with her family. Winthrop explains the differences between the Las Vegas Strip and the rest of the city, as well as how Las Vegas is developing and changing. She goes on to discuss irrigation and agriculture in Las Vegas, the effects of nuclear testing in Nevada, and nuclear power. Winthrop concludes the interview by expressing her opinions on future development of the city and what environmental protections she thinks should be implemented.

Oral history interview with Timothy C. Williams conducted by Claytee D. White on April 14, 2011 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Williams discusses his personal history in Chicago, Illinois in the 1960s and eventually moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1985. He describes his career in law and the increase of African American lawyers in Las Vegas by the end of the 1980s. Williams then talks about the founders and past presidents of the Las Vegas National Bar Association (LVNBA). Lastly, Williams recalls his involvement serving on a committee for the Las Vegas Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
