Oral history interview with Aerin Agbilay conducted by Claytee D. White and Stefani Evans on May 13, 2024 for the UNLV Remembers: an Oral History of the 6 December 2023 Shootings project. In this interview, Agbilay shares her recollections from December 6, 2023. She recalls working at Rebel Grounds and sheltering in place until the police evacuated the group. She recalls the fear she felt for her girlfriend and sister, who were both on campus, and the kindness of coworkers who were there with her that day. Finally, she discusses the way she was able to manage her trauma from the event by writing it out and then throwing it away--a technique recommended by her sister, now a licensed clinical social worker.
