Photo inscription reads: "[The men] explained the duties of the commissioners to BPW members Yolanda and Emma. It was on National BPW day when the business women were shown through the city and county offices to acquaint them with the intricicies of the office. A luncheon in hotel Thunderbird folowed, where 20 BPW members had 20 city and county officers as guests."

All of the women are wearing a pin on their blouses, (their left side). Inscription with photo reads: "The Social Directors of the City and Resort Hotels of the West. A hotel club group who stimulated business for all making reservations from place to place for them, as well as doing social work for guests in resorts, etc. Mrs. Coffman (Palm Springs), Mrs. Curry (Yosemite), Mrs. Hull (all Hull chain incl. As Social Executive in the Idlewild Inn in the San Jacinto Moutains, above Palm Springs (the tram goes to the top). Dorothy Dorothy (then Dorothy Varnum) conducted a nightly campfire program and community 'sing' outside during the week, and inside the Inn lobby on Sundays. As director of entertainment she traveled from S.F. to San Diego visiting the big hotels." Children line up outside schoolhouse for funeral procession for Orley Wardle. The children all wear coats and hats, and many are wearing all black. Included with photograph is a Xerox of a letter to Dr. Elizabeth Patrick from Luella and Austin [Wardle?], dated May 19, 1982. Letter says that Austin's brother's name was Orley R. Wardle and he was born in Park City, Utah in 1899. Orley passed away at the age of 8 years old on February 11, 1907 from spinal menengitis. Luella said that many died from the same sickness that winter.
