Oral history interview with C.E. Hansley conducted by George Whitehair on May 27, 1974 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In his interview Hansley discusses moving to Nevada in the mid 1950s and mining in Tonopah, Nevada. He also discusses the changes he has seen in Nevada infrastructure.

Oral history interview with Emma Stampley conducted by Claytee D. White on October 22, 2007 for the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. In this interview, Stampley discusses her early life in Fayette, Mississippi and growing up in a family of farmers. She remembers segregated schools, the living conditions during that time, and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1968. Stampley talks about participating in the civil and welfare rights movements, and the foundation of Operation Life. Lastly, Stampley recalls traveling to civil and welfare rights movement marches, police harassment, and the African American experience in Las Vegas during that time.

Oral history interview with Howie Fuhr conducted by Jeff Krieger on March 08, 1981 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Fuhr discusses his life in Minnesota and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1942.

Oral history interview with Roberta Kane conducted by Barbara Tabach on September 6, 2017 and May 22, 2018 for the Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project. Kane explains how she was the first born Jewish baby in Las Vegas, Nevada and her parents’ deep involvement with the Jewish community of the 1930s. She then talks about the formalization that occurred in the Jewish community with the building of Temple Beth Sholom. In a second session, Kane recalls the Wildcat Lair, a gathering spot of students from Las Vegas High School in the 1950s.

Oral history interview with Linda Hartley conducted by Pauline Marchese on March 10, 1978 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. During the interview, the two discuss Hartley’s personal history, such as schools that she had attended and her recollection of local recreational activities. The two go on to talk about changes in crime, the environment, and briefly discuss a variety of issues at the time, including: segregated schools, prostitution, and effects of the Nevada Test Site.

Oral history interview with Karen Grant conducted by Leslie Brinks on November 29, 2003 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Grant reflects upon her experience as a teacher and school administrator in the Pacific Northwest. She discusses challenges with changing curricula and school safety, and provides her opinion on changing student values and contemporary trends within public schools.
