Oral history interview with Russel Howard conducted by James W. Howard on January 10, 1972 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Howard recalls being transferred to Las Vegas, Nevada for work in 1947 and how impressed he was by the number of celebrities from the movie and entertainment industry that frequented Las Vegas in the early 1950s. He also discusses the expansion of the Las Vegas Strip and how rapidly the number of hotels grew.

Oral history interview with Ruth Gust conducted by Rebecca Bonenfant on March 10, 1981 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Gust discusses about her life in Nevada. Gust first talks about her original move to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1947 and some of the first businesses that existed at the time. In this brief interview, she also talks about the first casinos, the culinary union, her employment as a server, and Mount Charleston.

Oral history interview with Glenn Sayles conducted by John Vanden Heuvel on March 20, 1978 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Sayles discusses moving from New York state to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1950. Sayles discusses his experience working for the Las Vegas Police Department and an investigator for the Nevada Real Estate Division. Lastly, Sayles discusses the process and legal aspects of working in real estate.

Oral history interview with Pamela Sitton conducted by Claytee D. White on February 27, 2009 for the UNLV@ Fifty Oral History Project. Sitton discusses moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1963 where her father worked at the Nevada Test Site and graduating from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV). Sitton also discusses working at UNLV Libraries from 1974 until she retired March of 2009.

Oral history interview with Susan Tsukamoto conducted by Claudine Robinson on October 18, 2007 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Tsukamoto reflects upon her 33-year career as a teacher and administrator with Nevada’s Clark County School District (CCSD). Having returned to work after retiring, she notes trends and changes that she has witnessed with standardized testing, curriculum development, and programs such as No Child Left Behind. Oral history interview with Francie Summers conducted by Stacia Luigi on October 14, 2009 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Summers reflects upon her 35-year career as a teacher and principal with Nevada’s Clark County School District (CCSD). She describes her experience teaching at different private and public schools, how she later became a principal, and how her philosophy of education changed throughout her career. She also provides her opinion on contemporary topics such as standardized testing, student ethics, No Child Left Behind, and teacher grievances.

Oral history interview with Mary Habbart conducted by Jane Finfrock on February 28, 1979 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Habbart first talks about her move to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1920 and her husband’s subsequent employment. She also talks about the first casinos, the development of the university campus, visits of U.S. presidents, and the Mormon Fort. She also discusses the Helldorado Parade, flash floods, snowing in Las Vegas, her role in developing Sunset Park, her family, and her education.
