The YESCO corporate records and correspondence series (1920-2000) consists of meeting minutes and bylaws, general business records, financial reports, correspondence, advertising, company anniversary scrapbooks, and oral history interviews with YESCO employees, including members of the Young family. General business records include biographical writings about the Young family, ledgers and datebooks, a YESCO operational manual, blank contracts, sales policies and procedures, and business records of Henry “Hank” Schutte, who joined YESCO as a boy and worked for the company for most of his life.

The Ralph Denton Legal Papers (1950-1993) consist of case files and legal briefs of civil rights attorney Ralph Denton. The cases largely involve civil rights issues and property claims in Las Vegas, Nevada. The files include cases representing individuals as well as companies such as Henderson Telephone Company, Lephrechaun Mining Company, and the Jockey Club Casino.

Alterwitz-Stralser, Deanne

Deanne Alterwitz-Stralser (née Friedman) was born January 1, 1931 in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of an insurance salesman and a stay-at-home mom. Alterwitz-Stralser spent her childhood in Calumet City, just across the state line in Illinois, and was raised with a strong Jewish identity. At the age of sixteen, she met her husband, Oscar Alterwitz, at an Alpha Zadik Alpha (AZA) dance in Gary, Indiana, and the two were married in 1950.

Ellen Knowlton, retired FBI agent and former Mob Museum Chairman of the Board grew up in Merced, California. She attended Sacramento State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business, later adding on an MBA from St. Mary’s.
