On February 16, 1979, collector Elaine Broniecki, interviewed local Clark County School District teacher, Pamela Calos Hicks, (born in Dayton, Ohio, on November 23rd, 1946) in her home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Hicks moved from Ohio to Southern Nevada in 1947. This interview covers Hicks’ recollections of Las Vegas from 1955 to 1979. Hicks’ also lists the addresses of where she has lived within Las Vegas.

Della Mae Rostine moved with her husband Rocco to Las Vegas from Missouri in 1942. After living for a year in Las Vegas, they moved to Henderson so her husband could work in construction at the Basic Magnesium plant. She later worked there briefly as a machinist. The plant later became Rheem Manufacturing. "The timing of the Rostine Family's arrival and the fact that they stayed and made a permanent home in Henderson led to their designation as one of Henderson's 'founding families'".

Marie Schamaun was born in Bazine, Kansas on March 3, 1919 to Mary Blehur and Peter Yeager. Her parents immigrated to the United States from Gratza, Russia. She married Parry John Schamaun in 1942, and they lived in Bazine until 1945, and spent 1945 to 1947 in Lafayette, Indiana. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1952 with her husband. She was active in social life and later worked at the Tropicana. She passed away on February 20, 2015.

Beginning in clerical work at the Nevada Test Site, Daniel rose to become the Assistant Hotel Manager at Union Plaza Hotel and Casino. She established the Hotel Managers Association and the Professional Black Women's Alliance. After leaving the gaming industry, Daniel returned to school to train for a career in education. She worked closely with the Displaced Homemaker Program at the Community College of Southern Nevada and later with Help Centers of Southern Nevada.

Tony Midnite, born Tony Murdoch, was a female impersonator, costume designer, and LGBT activist who worked throughout the United States, including Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born September 26, 1926 in Texas, and died August 31, 2009 in Las Vegas.

Aaron Williams was born October 4, 1921 in Tatum, Texas and spent his early adult years in Detroit, Michigan working for the Chrysler Corporation. He joined the Army in 1940. Williams moved to Las Vegas from Detroit, Michigan, after serving in the military. He worked at the Nevada Test Site, then ran for local office in the City of North Las Vegas city council. He later was elected to the Clark County Commission.

Lucille Down was born December 14, 1911 in Wellington, Kansas. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1919 when her dad was an employee of the Union Pacific Railroad. After graduating from Las Vegas High School, she worked for the Southern Nevada Telephone Company. Down married her husband, James, in 1931 and she was a housewife ever since. Down passed away February 27, 2007.
