The Southwestern United States photographs depict people and locations in the Southwestern United States from approximately 1900 to 1974. The photographs depict locations in Utah, Arizona, California, and New Mexico. Some of the locations include Death Valley, California; Zion National Park, Utah; and the Grand Canyon, Arizona. The photographs also depict mines and miners, railroads, desert landscapes, and aerial views. The items described include black-and-white photographic prints, postcards, negatives, and slides; items listed are photographic prints unless otherwise specified.

Materials contain photographs of the Zaval Family from 1900 to 1933. Materials include photographs of the R.O. Ranch, Millett Ranch, Berg Ranch, Belmont Mine, and the Berg brothers' store in Round Mountain.
