Oral history interview with Patricia Mulroy conducted by Claytee D. White on November 18, 2013 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. Mulroy discusses her arrival in Las Vegas, Nevada as a University of Nevada, Las Vegas student. She also discusses water conservation for the Las Vegas Valley, becoming the general manager of the Las Vegas Valley Water District from 1989 to 2014 and the general manager of the Southern Nevada Water Authority from 1993 to 2014.

Oral history interview with Jocelyn Cortez conducted by Nathalie Martinez on May 18, 2019 for the Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, Cortez discusses her family history in El Salvador and her parents' emigration to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1980. She talks about the challenge of adjusting to city life, growing up on the Eastside of Las Vegas, and her educational experience. Cortez describes her involvement in the Student Organization of Latinos (SOL), and attending law school at the University of Arizona. Later, Cortez discusses the challenges of being an immigration attorney, and being elected president of the Latino Bar Association. Lastly, Cortez talks about changes in Las Vegas and the Latinx community.

Oral history interview with the Sennes family conducted by Claytee D. White on November 18, 2011 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Frank Sennes Jr., Jerry Sennes, and Luanne Sennes Glenn discuss their father, Frank Sennes Sr., and his life and career as an entertainment director. They describe their early lives traveling with their father to various states before eventually moving to Las Vegas, Nevada during the 1950s, where Sennes Sr. became the entertainment director for the Desert Inn Hotel and Casino and the Moulin Rouge. They talk about their father's personal history, his work with Donn Arden, and the various celebrities they met through their father.

Abstract

Oral history with Michael Ciccolo conducted by Claytee D. White on September 18, 2018 for the Remembering 1 October Oral History Project. In this interview, Ciccolo, a doctor at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, discusses the early morning after the mass shooting on October 1, 2017. He participated in surgery for two victims in the early morning after the shooting. As a doctor trained in Iowa, Arizona, and California, Ciccolo and his family love the city of Las Vegas. He trained at the University of Iowa, University of Arizona, and University of Southern California. His thoughts after the October 1 tragedy include the belief that as a society, we are not grateful enough for everyday things. He also discusses anger, and his conflicting thoughts on gun ownership.

Oral history interviews with Lloyd George conducted by Claytee D. White on June 15 and 28, 2005 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In the first interview, George discusses being a lawyer in Las Vegas, Nevada and Chief Judge of the Nevada District Court, as well as having The Lloyd D. George United States Courthouse in Las Vegas named after him. In the second interview, he talks about growing up in Las Vegas, his education, favorite teachers, and early jobs as a schoolboy, his experiences in Wisconsin and Illinois as a Mormon missionary, and his college education at Brigham Young University. He continues discussing the history of Las Vegas, and his desire to pursue a career in law. He also discusses a great many notable individuals in the state.

Oral history interview with Marjorie Conner conducted by Christine Schaeffer on April 18, 2002 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Conner reflects upon her more than 30-year career in education, with the most of her career being an administrator with the Clark County School District during the 1980s and 1990s. She discusses challenges that she often faced as an elementary school administrator, and the challenge of opening new schools. She describes the differences between starting at an established school and establishing a new school, and how such experiences shaped her philosophy of education. She also reflects upon her time as assistant principal, principal, and regional superintendent, and discusses the different job responsibilities associated with each position.

Oral history interview with Thalia Dondero conducted by Susan Scott on March 18, 1978 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Dondero first speaks about her background and the circumstances which led her to move to Las Vegas, Nevada. She also talks about her children, her work with the Parent-Teacher Association, and her service with the Nevada State Park Commission. She also describes the development of the Las Vegas Strip, her involvement in various organizations, her consideration in running for governor, and some of the topics she handled as a commissioner for the county.
