Abstract

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Web Archive represents archived websites that are part of the unlv.edu domain that have been collected since 2013. Websites in this collection represent all academic functions of UNLV including colleges and departments, the University Libraries, museums, undergraduate and graduate colleges, and course catalogs. Other websites represented in this collection include UNLV Athletics, research centers, campus directories, UNLV News Center, and the UNLV President's website.

DIRECT QUOTE: email from UNLV Official to UNLV community Dec 16, 2016: "The UNLV School of Social Work faculty and staff are saddened by the news of the passing of Leroy Pelton, Professor Emeritus of the School of Social Work. An advocate for children’s welfare and the homeless, he was well respected both on campus and in the community, and he will be missed dearly. Jake “Jakie” Freedman (1891-1958) was a notorious gambler and oilman from Houston, Texas. He helped establish the Sands Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada as investor and gaming director.

Harvey L. Daiell Papers

Abstract

The Harvey L. Daiell Papers (1855, 1953) contains a diploma of Euphasia Humphrey (a distant family member of Daiell) from Rogersville Union Seminary, dated June 21, 1855, and a brief genealogy of the Daiell and Humphrey families. The collection also contains a bound book of letters titled "Howard D. Evans - His History at Lakeside Laboratories As Told by His Friends," compiled by Daiell in 1953.
