Samuel Liddle General Store Records

Abstract

The Samuel Liddle General Store Records (1885-1887) are comprised of order forms, inventories, and customer ledgers for Liddle's General Store in Leadville, Nevada. The store was created to provide services to residents and prospectors during a mining boom in White Pine County that lasted from 1887 to approximately 1890. The materials also consist of Liddle's General Store accounts, business correspondence, and transactions, such as wholesale purchases of general merchandise and mining supplies from vendors in Eureka, Nevada, San Francisco, California, and smaller nearby locations. An undated hand-drawn map of the townsite is also included.

Abstract

The Martha C. Knack and Omer C. Stewart Research Papers on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe contains materials collected by Stewart and Knack as research for their 1984 book, As Long as the River Shall Run: An Ethnohistory of Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation. The collection focuses on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation in Northeastern Nevada from 1845 to 1975 and include letters, journal articles, legal documents, government documents, treatises, and records. All materials are photocopies of documents that date between approximately 1845 to 1980.

The collection dates from 1920 to 2019 and is primarily comprised of business and organizational records, press, photographs, scrapbooks, audiovisual materials, awards, and ephemera documenting Mark L. Fine’s career as a real estate developer in Southern Nevada and his work with various government and community organizations. The bulk of the material dates from 1980 to 2005.

She also describes her career in public relations, reflecting upon the unique challenges faced when interacting with the public, and with politics, in her positions. Unger-Wadkins ends by describing her current work in land development, particularly the history of the Three Kids Mine and the technical and political process of ensuring the land is suitable as a residential area.
