Typed onto a piece of paper attached to the image: "Crowd Greets Hughes On Arrival In Capital, Washington D.C. -- Howard Hughes and his companions came to Washington July 21, to personally thank Secretary of State Cordell Hull for the State Department's co-operation on their record world flight, and incidentally to be feted at a luncheon of the Press Club. From the Howard Cannon Photograph Collection (PH-00192). The Nevada Air National Guard is headquartered at the Nevada Joint Force Headquarters, in Carson City, NV. The Nevada Air National Guard maintains a presence in three of the state's 17 counties with a 64-acre (260,000 m2) site on the southwest corner of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport in Reno, a detachment on Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas and at Creech Air Force Base in Indian Springs.
