Abstract

Oral history interview with Julie McDonald conducted by Michael Richardson on March 14, 1981 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, McDonald describes life in Las Vegas, Nevada after moving there in 1956, as well as the city's layout. McDonald also passionately describes the complexities, perks, and pitfalls she faced while working as a card dealer in various casinos.

Description given with photo: "Hughes Required To Submit Questions At Inquiry In Writing, Washington, D.C. --- The sub-committee investigating the Hughes War Time plane contracts, ruled today that a standing committee rule would be effective in requiring that questions must be put in writing, and presented to the committee thru counsel of the principals involved. here, Sen. Homer Ferguson, R., of Mich. Chairman of the subcommittee is shown receiving a written question from Howard Hughes the millionaire plane builder, to be put to one of the witnesses summoned to the inquiry at Hughes' request. Abstract

The Las Vegas Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Collection (approximately 1960-2012) contains photographs of Teenbeat Club (located at 4416 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, Nevada) founders Keith Austin and Steve Miller from 1962 to 1968, as well as a reprodution of a poster from the club. The collection also contains Hall of Fame (HOF) Induction Ceremony and Concert program and ticket stubs, HOF Board of Directors minutes from 2010, and an advertisement and digital file of the "Strip Away the Years: the Story of the Las Vegas Rock Reunion Concert" film produced in 2012.
