Description

Several organizations unite in solidarity to support the Frontier Strike in December 1990. Supporters holding signs, banners, and flags march and pose outside the Frontier. There are also photos of police officers and firemen outside the hotel. Culinary Union secretary-treasurer Jim Arnold is in multiple photos, posing with groups and individuals, shown on stage at a rally, and at a Christmas party. Also included in this folder are: photos of Frontier owners Margaret and Tom Elardi, a portable bathroom decorated with signs and a large rodent, and a clip from an article stating, "DESERT SOLIDARITY, OUR LINE IN THE SAND." Sampson inquiring about the status of the pending conveyance of lands from Rocky Mountain Produce Company to the Las Vegas Indian (Paiute Colony). Requests from Nellie Sanchez, a resident of the Las Vegas Paiute Colony. Letter from Superintendent to Bruce Stucki confirming that conveyance transaction of land to the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe is final. Letter from Superintendent Robert L. Hunter to Chairman of the Las Vegas Paiute Colony Council Kenneth Anderson about finalizing the transfer of a small strip of land from the Rocky Mountain Produce Company. Abstract

The Golden Agila Lions Club Records (1996-2019) contain organizational and membership files for the Golden Agila Lions Club, a Filipino-American civic organization based in Las Vegas, Nevada. The collection includes information about chartering the organization as an official club and includes membership lists, newsletters, and records that document the Golden Agila Lions service and social activities. The collection includes newspaper clippings documenting the Golden Agila Lions Club and the Filipino community from various Las Vegas-based Filipino and Asian-American newspapers. Two issues of Today's Filipino Magazine from 2018 and 2019 are also included in this collection.

Other locations include Atlantic City, New Jersey and some international hotels and casinos. The collection also contains promotional materials for various Nevada-based gaming companies and corporations, such as press releases, press kits, and product brochures.

The Dow Metals, Incorporated Photograph Collection on Basic Magnesium, Incorporated (approximately 1940 to 1990) contains black-and-white photographic prints, reproduction prints, and negatives depicting scenes at the Basic Magnesium, Inc. (BMI) plant in Henderson, Nevada. Images also include Basic townsite homes, buildings, and residents; BMI employees; and interior and aerial views of the plant. Also included are images from Pittman, Nevada of row houses, tent houses, a recreation center, and dining and entertainment establishments.
