Oral history interview with Catherine Buchanan conducted by Claytee D. White on March 26, 1997 as part of the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. In this interview, Buchanan speaks at length about her child and young adulthood in Louisiana and explains how she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1971. She discusses her first job as a maid at the Landmark Hotel and Casino and how she applied to the Teamsters Union to move into front desk work in the hotels, which led to a job at the Sahara Hotel and Casino. She then talks about discrimination and the small percentage of African Americans in the more "visible" jobs at the hotels.

Oral history interview with Benny Binion conducted by an unknown interviewer circa 1975 to 1977. In this interview, Binion discusses his arrival to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1946 and his involvement with the town in the early 1950s. He discusses what motivated him to move, his involvement with the Las Vegas Club, and his decision to build The Westerner and eventually Binion’s Horseshoe on Fremont Street. He also describes what gaming was like in Las Vegas when he first arrived, and his interactions with other casinos such as the Flamingo, Eldorado Club, and Hotel Apache in 1951.

Oral history interview with Rochelle Hornsby conducted by Barbara Tabach on November 30, 2016 for the Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project. Hornsby arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1962 when her former husband Len took a position with a local radio station. Her sales talent led her into promotional sales for conventions and she talks about her former husband's and her careers in Las Vegas. For over twenty years she has been a residential real estate agent. She also talks about volunteering with the Temple Beth Sholom Sisterhood, and the 25th Anniversary celebration of Israel.

Oral history interview with Karin Sporn conducted by Claytee D. White on May 25, 2023 for the Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project. Karin Sporn grew up in Germany when her father was a member of Hitler's army. As a young woman, she converted to Judaism, and she shares how it was a difficult path. Much of her study and sacred rituals were done in Israel, and she shares that many signs along the way gave her encouragement, and she learned from others around her in Israel who shared their stories with Sporn. Eventually, her travel business brought her to Las Vegas, Nevada. After selling her and her husband's business, Sporn discusses how she was then free to volunteer for Jewish and civic organizations, and the leisure to sculp and to write her memoir, Just Peek Over the Fence.

Oral history interview with Catherine "Caty" Crockett conducted by Claytee D. White on December 3, 2024 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Crockett recalls her parents' history living in Las Vegas, Nevada and starting a guest ranch, Hidden Wells, and later the Crockett/Alamo Airfield airport, and the Lazy Flying C Ranch. Crockett recalls growing up on the airport, riding horses, and interacting with celebrities and entertainers, including Howard Hughes. After graduating from Valley High School, she worked at the Sahara Hotel and Casino, Saks Fifth Avenue, and then at Valley Bank. She describes meeting many leading figures in Las Vegas history through her banking job, including Parry Thomas, the Mack family, Kirk Kerkorian, and others. Crockett describes later jobs, including owning an art gallery, and being one of the first women to join the Rotary Club.

She remembers the 1918 Influenza pandemic, her early interest in music, and becoming the band leader for the all-women orchestra, The Sophisticates. Hoban talks about moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1942, competing and winning in golf tournaments, and changes in Las Vegas golf courses.

Oral history interview with Eric Mendoza conducted by Holly O'Donnell on November 29, 2021 for Reflections: The Las Vegas Asian American and Pacific Islander Oral History Project. In this interview, Eric Mendoza shares his family's chain migration history from Manila, Philippines to the United States and his difficult immigration and naturalization process once arriving in America in 1996. He talks about what brought him to live in Las Vegas, Nevada, his education and professional pursuits, what his life is like in the United States compared to that of the Philippines, and the lives of his eight siblings. Eric Mendoza discusses the historical past of the Philippines, the infrastructure in place there, and government corruption. He also speaks to Filipino traditions and festivals, food and customs, his cultural identity, and assimilating to American culture.
