Oral history interview with Jimmy Jones conducted by Claytee D. White and Stefani Evans on August 29, 2024 for the UNLV Remembers: an Oral History of the 6 December 2023 Shootings project. In this interview, Jones describes arriving at his office inside UNLV Lied Library and was answering emails when the first alert came across his computer screen. He called the University Police Department (UPD) and confirmed the situation, then went to the Circulation Desk and ordered the building locked down--no one in or out. When multiple groups of police arrived--eventually including FBI, SWAT, ATF, Metro, etc.--he introduced himself as the on-scene commander of the building. After the building was evacuated, he assisted ATF to avoid breaking doors by making himself available to unlock every door in the Library. Jones describes the atmosphere of the students in the library as somber and fearful. He returned the following day to check for damage inside the library, and found minimal damage except "clear" written on some doors. He also discusses racism in the workplace. Oral history interview with Jeffery Parhamovich conducted by Claytee D. White and Stefani Evans on April 29, 2024 for the Game On! The Oral History of Las Vegas Sports project. In this interview, Parhamovich describes his childhood near Cleveland, Ohio, and attending Kansas State University, where he majored in Bakery Science and Management. He talks about working for H. C. Brill Company, Inc., in Tucker, Georgia, moving to Kansas City, and joining Calvary Bible College, where he met his future wife. Parhamovich talks about his life-long love of cars that grew into a passion for motor sports from the National Association of Stock Car Racing (NASCAR) to Formula One racing. He discusses the growth of F1 racing in the United States following its purchase by Liberty Media; the Circuit of the Americas, a permanent F1 track in Austin, Texas; the Las Vegas Paddock, the only F1 paddock owned by Formula One Motor Sports (now Liberty Media), and attending the Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2023. Ciarlo, Dorothy Day
Dorothy Day Ciarlo was born December 16, 1933, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dorothy married James Ciarlo on August 11, 1963, and they have two children: Catherine Ciarlo and David Ciarlo.
Ciarlo obtained her Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Chicago.
Ciarlo is a retired clinical psychologist. She worked in community mental health as a psychologist and clinical director and then worked in private clinical practice until her retirement.

Carmichael, Kent
Kent Carmichael, lighting engineer and artist, is responsible for many of the most iconic signs in Las Vegas history. Kent Carmichael was born in December 1933 in Burbank, California, drafted for Korean War as a football player for the U.S. Navy, and served overseas in Korea. After being discharged in 1956 in Long Beach he began working for Interstate Neon for Max and Mo Oggenblick.

Chenin-Frankl, Lori
Lori Chenin-Frankl was born December 7, 1960. Chenin-Frankl is the child of a Holocaust survivor, Fernande Magalnik Chenin, and Simon Chenin, a barber. In 1963, the Chenin family moved from Cleveland, Ohio, to Las Vegas for her father’s health. The city was already home to her uncle Dr. Joe Chenin, the first licensed Jewish dentist in Southern Nevada and a good place for the family to settle in. Her father worked his barber business and her mother was a clerk for the school bus yard.

Arum, Bob
Bob (Robert) Arum is the founder and CEO of Top Rank boxing promotions company in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born in New York City, Arum is a former attorney and a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame. He promoted his first fight for Muhammad Ali in 1966 and moved Top Rank’s headquarters to Las Vegas in 1986. He has produced countless fights in the city and helped to make it “The Fight Capital of the World.”

Alpha Epsilon Pi. Nu Sigma Chapter (University of Nevada, Las Vegas)
Alpha Epsilon Pi is a Jewish fraternity established in 1913 to provide a Jewish social and cultural organization for Jewish men, but is also "non-discriminatory and open to all who are willing to espouse its purpose and values." A Nu Sigma chapter of Alpha Epsilon Pi at University of Nevada, Las Vegas was chartered in 1968. Sheldon Adelson is an honorary member of the fraternity, and Michael Cherry was a member and two-time president of the chapter at the University of Missouri.

King David Memorial Chapel
King David Memorial Chapel was established in 2001 by Palm Mortuaries and Cemeteries. It is located on 2697 East Eldorado Lane in Las Vegas, Nevada. King David Memorial Chapel is “the only memorial chapel and cemetery combination in Southern Nevada dedicated exclusively to the Jewish community.” King David Memorial Chapel is part of the Dignity Memorial network, which is the largest funeral provider in North America. King David Memorial Chapel is also part of the Jewish Funeral Directors Association (JFDA).
