Bryan, Patricia, 1917-

Patricia Bryan was born in Alexandria, Minnesota on March 17, 1917.She is the oldest of two children. She graduated from an elite girls boarding school in 1935 during the Great Depression. She attended college at the University of California, Los Angeles and Northwestern University. Byran married her college sweetheart at age 22 after finishing school at Northwestern. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1947 and worked as a housewife.

Gang, Roberta, 1940-

Bobbie Gang was born on April 6, 1940 in New York, New York.

Gang married a young future attorney, Leonard Gang, in 1961. Two years later the couple was living in Nevada. She only agreed to move upon finding a welcoming synagogue, in this case Temple Beth Sholom. The couple and their three children spent time in both Carson City and Las Vegas.

Nevada Public Radio (KNPR) radio documentary entitled ""Las Vegas: Mississippi of the West or Promised Land?" hosted by William J. Drummond and Faith Fancher that aired on June 24, 1991. In this two-part series, the hosts and a variety of guests discuss racial segregation in Las Vegas, Nevada's past and the racial climate of the city in 1991. Guests include, but are not limited to, Peter Lyn Hayes, Joe Williams, Roosevelt Fitzgerald, Eugene Moehring, James West, Eric Cooper, Sarah Knight Preddy, and Frank Hawkins.
