Aerial view of Hughes Airport in Culver City, now Playa Vista, California. This private airport was owned by Howard Hughes and used for projects of the Hughes Aircraft Company and Hughes Tool Company. Lincoln Boulevard can be seen in the foreground, and on the left are Jefferson Boulevard and Ballona Creek.

Description

The view of the Trans World Airlines (TWA) hangar containing airplanes in an unnamed airport in Boulder City, Nevada. One of America's oldest International Air Carriers (INAC) that was popular during the twentieth century, the Trans World Airlines was aided by aviator Charles Lindbergh in mapping out the company's early air routes, and so in the 1930s Trans World Airlines was also known as "The Lindbergh Line." Transcribed across the top of the building: "Fly TWA, The Lindbergh Line. Chicago, New York. Los Angeles, San Francisco."
