Oral history interviews with Rob Schlegel conducted by Dennis McBride on various dates in March and April of 1998 for the Las Vegas Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Archives Oral History Project. In the interviews, Schlegel recalls his early life in Port Angeles, Washington, his conservative Baptist upbringing, and his early experiences with literature. Schlegel then discusses working with newspaper publications in high school and college, understanding his sexuality during college, his first gay sexual experience, and his first trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. He recalls working with Robert Lloyd "Bob" Brown at the Valley Times during this visit. Schlegel talks about moving to Las Vegas and working full-time as the production manager for the Valley Times. Schlegel explains becoming active in politics through his newspaper work, meeting notable casino executives, and financial and political controversies the Valley Times experienced in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He then describes coming out as gay, and working at the Nevada Gay Times beginning in 1985. Schlegel also talks about opening and managing the Bright Pink Literature bookstore in 1987 and starting a separate publication Night Beat in 1992. He then recalls co-founding Las Vegas Gay Pride and Southern Nevada Association of Pride, Inc., conflicts he had within the Las Vegas gay community, and working at the Gipsy nightclub as a secretary. Lastly, Schlegel discusses the repeal of Nevada's sodomy laws, homophobia, and memories of individuals and organizations associated with the Las Vegas gay community.

Oral history interview with Vicki Richardson conducted by Claytee D. White on January 29, 2003 and August 19, 2003 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. Richardson discusses teaching art in the Clark County School district and owning businesses, including the Left of Center Art Gallery in North Las Vegas, Nevada.

Oral history interview with Betty West conducted by Claytee D. White on May 10, 2008 for the History of Blue Diamond Village in Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, West discusses growing up in Blue Diamond, Nevada. She describes the work her father, Mark West, did at the mines and recalls the Village where mine workers and their families lived in the 1950s. West discusses her employment at the Sahara Hotel in the 1960s as a slot girl and later as a cocktail waitress. Lastly, West talks about the changes in Blue Diamond, and eventually moving to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Oral history interview with Fiona Kelley conducted by Lisa Gioia-Acres on March 21, 2009 for the Heart to Heart Oral History Project. Kelley discusses being a cover dancer in Hallelujah Hollywood at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. She also discusses becoming licensed in massage therapy and becoming an acupuncturist and a herbalist.

Oral history interview with Mary Noblitt conducted by Mary Sawdey on March 13, 1981 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Noblitt discusses moving to Las Vegas, Nevada and building housing in the southern part of town. Noblitt goes on to discuss communication through railroad and morse code. Lastly, Noblitt discusses the above ground atomic tests.

Oral history interview with Marjorie McManus conducted by an unknown interviewer on October 24, 1972 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, McManus discusses the history and differences betweeen Boulder City, Nevada and Las Vegas, Nevada. She talks about the differences in culture, education, and stances on political issues.

Oral history interview with Marty Walsh conducted by Suzanne Becker on July 19, 2007 for the Voices of the Historic John S. Park Neighborhood Oral History Project. Walsh discusses living in a home in the John S. Park Neighborhood that was built in 1941 with her husband. She also discusses her work as an artist and her husband’s work as a carpenter.
