Oral history interview with Afton Powers conducted by Stephen Johnson on January 22, 1972 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Powers discusses living in St. Thomas, Nevada before the town was submerged in water after the construction of Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam). In this interview, Sarno discusses his earliest recollections in Las Vegas, Nevada and the lifestyle he had growing up. He talks about the divorce of his parents, living in a Circus Circus Hotel and Casino suite, and the initial planning for The Grandissimo. Lastly, Sarno describes his father’s legacy in Las Vegas and his passing in 1984.

Oral history interview with Mirta G. Feinberg conducted by Jeffrey Smith on April 22, 2006 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Feinberg reflects upon her 38-year career in education, with the bulk of her career taking place in California. She describes the process by which she became a principal, and her experiences working with bilingual education. She discusses challenges that she faced as a principal such as school safety, and describes her working relationship as a principal with assistant principals.

Oral history interview with Bill Richardson conducted by Gretchen Schroeder on May 10, 2008 for the History of Blue Diamond Village in Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, Richardson discusses living in Nelson, Nevada and later moving to Blue Diamond Village, Nevada where his father worked in the mines. He describes education in the Village and the homes that were built there. Later, Richardson talks about his father’s lumberyard, which received lumber from Mount Charleston, and Las Vegas, Nevada in the 1940s. Lastly, he describes his employment at the Nevada Test Site as a forklift operator.
