Isola discusses Las Vegas, Nevada’s lack of a unified garbage system and how dumping sites have had to adjust their practices in order to limit their impact on pollution. Herst also discusses his personal family history, his Jewish identity, community affiliations, and his career as a card dealer and broker at different casinos.

Oral history interview with Carole Vilardo conducted by Derek Armstrong and Claytee D. White on August 11, 2015 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Vilardo discusses the implementation of a sales tax to further fund education in Nevada. She then describes her first legislative session in 1973 and describes Nevada property taxes. Later, Vilardo explains the significance of taxes and how changes in tax rates are made. Lastly, Vilardo recalls lobbying for certain bills and explains the tax structure in Nevada at the time.

Oral history interview with Ward Lindquist conducted by Martin A. Judd on February 28, 1979 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In the interview, Lindquist discusses his work as a bartender, maritime pilot, and sheet metal worker in Southern Nevada. He also discusses his early life in South Dakota, family, and his various occupations prior to arriving in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1946.
