Oral history interview with Andrew Walsh conducted by Barbara Tabach and Claytee D. White on February 13, 2019 for the Remembering 1 October Oral History Project. In this interview, Walsh recalls his early life in New York City, New York, and working for the New York Police Department. He then recalls moving and joining the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 1998. He discusses his current position as Deputy Chief/Division Commander of Tourist Safety, his role in the aftermath of the October 1, 2017 mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, and community healing.

Bruce Walter Church was born on June 9, 1941, in St. George, Utah. Bruce married Carol “LaDean” Tobler on July 22, 1960, and had numerous children: Russell B.; K. Keith; Patrick W.; Katherine Madsen; Corey H.; John E.(D); Robert E. (D); Joey T.; Jeffery D.; and Candice Howe.
Church is affiliated with the Nevada Test Site as Assistant Manager for Environment, Safely, Security, and Health. Church has also been employed as a Health Physic Consultant and Farmer.
Robert W. Taft was born on November 1, 1925, in Sioux City, Iowa. Robert married Jean on January 22, 1957, and they had three children: Michael W. Taft, Rebecca T. Ashley, and Mary T. Clark.
Taft attended College Notre Dame. Taft also served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Taft was the assistant manager for plans, engineering, and budget for the Nevada Test Site.
