Fort Mojave Indian School Records

Abstract

The Fort Mojave Indian School Records (1890-1923) consist of correspondence, finance and administrative records, pump station blueprints, and policy implementation and fact finding records. The school served the Hualapai and Mojave Indians at a site near present-day Kingman, Arizona. The information is contained in two bound volumes.

Description

Large semicircle tables are oriented around a spinning wheel. Money and numbers are attached to the wheel. A casino employee stands off to the right next to another table game. Behind him are several rows of slot machines and what appears to be the gift shop (See Images 0012 pho024176, 0013 pho024177, 0014 pho024178). To the left, there is a Keno board showing winning numbers and people sitting or standing near the counter (See Image 0024 pho024182).The color photograph was taken before the casino was renovated in the mid 1970s. Description

The Fremont Theatre marquee advertising "World by Night" showing at the Fremont Theatre and "Fanny" showing at the Guild Theatre in Las Vegas, Nevada 1961. "World by Night" opened in the United States on April 7, 1961. "Fanny" opened in the United States on June 28, 1961. Storefronts for Nettleton Shoe and a jewelry store are also visible. The Fremont Theatre, located at 202 Fremont Street and 3rd Street, was attached to the Fremont Hotel and Casino. It opened in 1947, and was owned by Earle C. Strebe, and operated by George Ingram. The auditorium had a raised stadium section at the rear. It has been closed and demolished. Site Name: Fremont Theatre (Las Vegas, Nev.)
