Oral history interview with Bryan Chan conducted by Vanessa Concepcion, Cecilia Winchell, and Stefani Evans on October 18, 2021 for Reflections: The Las Vegas Asian American and Pacific Islander Oral History Project.

Bryan Chan discusses his life growing up in California, his family's migration stories to the United States, and his education. He discusses his appearance on a reality television show which led to becoming a singer for boy band LMNT. Bryan talks about his entertainment career, including his move to Las Vegas to sing and host for the Chippendales show at the Rio Hotel and Casino. He also shares insight into his family's traditions and his favorite foods that his father and grandmother cooked.

Oral history interview with Eric Calvillo conducted by Monserrath Hernández and Laurents Bañuelos-Benitez on June 18, 2019 for the Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, Calvillo discusses his early life in San Jose, California before eventually moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2005. He talks about completing a culinary internship at the Picasso restaurant in the Bellagio Hotel and Casino and how he has always been interested in the arts. Calvillo then describes his career in art as a painter, his Día de los Muertos inspired art, and showcasing his art pieces at First Friday in the Las Vegas Arts District. Later, Calvillo talks about making art more accessible, commissioned art pieces he has made, and explains the time it takes him to finish a piece. Lastly, Calvillo discusses his thoughts on the term Latinx, the art scene in Las Vegas, and his future plans as an artist.

Oral history interview with Charles Hunsberger conducted by Ann Langevin in 2010 for StoryCorp. Hunsberger was a former director of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. Also included with the interview are notes of support and encouragement to Hunsberger from former colleagues and friends in honor of his 90th birthday. Oral history interview with Paul Hejmanowski conducted by Lois M. Goodall on March 13, 2014 for West Charleston Neighborhoods-- An Oral History Project of Ward 1. Paul Hejmanowski in this interview recalls his family moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1972 and his first impressions of the city and its people. Hejmanowski then discusses his children’s activities at Lorenzi Park and traveling to an area near Caliente to cut down their Christmas tree. He also discusses how the law and justice community has changed in Las Vegas, given the rise in the amount of lawyers in Las Vegas and the advent of modern office technology.

Oral history interview with Aaron Rosenthal conducted by David Schwartz on December 21, 2016 for the Slot Operations Oral History Project. Rosenthal discusses the various slot operations and marketing roles he held with MGM Mirage/MGM Resorts. He also talks about his experiences in dealing with slot vendors and responsibilities as a general manager at various properties.

Oral history interview with Jan Jones Blackhurst conducted by Claytee D. White on December 09, 2016 for the Building Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Blackhurst discusses her early life in Santa Monica, California. She recalls moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1982, her initial interests in politics, and being elected Mayor of Las Vegas. Blackhurst talks about her accomplishments as mayor, the development of Fremont Street Experience, and establishing services for homeless people in Las Vegas. Lastly, Blackhurst discusses managing government relations for Harrah’s (now Caesars Entertainment).

Oral history interview with Edith Fernandez conducted by Marcela Rodriguez-Campo and Claytee D. White on September 27, 2018 for the Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, Fernandez discusses her upbringing in Las Vegas, Nevada and growing up in the Charleston Heights neighborhood. She recalls living in a predominantly white community, and the growth of Latinx families in that area. Fernandez talks about her educational experience in the city, her father’s involvement with Culinary Worker Union Local 226, and identifying as a Chicana American. Later, Fernandez remembers her involvement with opening the Cambridge Center, working with the Latino Youth Leadership Conference (LVLC), and becoming the District Director for Representative Steven Horsford. Lastly, Fernandez discusses her role as the Associate Vice President at Nevada State College (NSC).
