Oral history interview with Carey Burke conducted by Drew Casale on February 23, 1980 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Burke discusses moving to Henderson, Nevada with his family at a young age and living in Las Vegas, Nevada. Burke also discusses his profession as a passenger service agent for an airline company. He then talks about McCarran Airport, its various airlines, and the development of the Las Vegas Strip.

In this interview, Smith discusses arriving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1943 and recalls his first impressions of the city. She also talks about the boom that Las Vegas, Nevada went through when the first casinos were being built, and when the construction of the Boulder (Hoover) Dam occurred. In this interview, Viera discusses his work in real estate throughout Las Vegas, Nevada and describes the increase in value of homes, especially newer buildings. Matthews discusses his arrival to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1949 in an attempt to find better living conditions. Matthews then describes living through the Great Depression, and explains the hardships it brought upon many people. Matthews later discusses improvements in transportation throughout the city as more streets were paved.
