Abstract

Oral history interview with Cleona Sorenson and Theona Ohlson conducted by Fred F. Aldrich on March 04, 1977 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Cleona and Theona discuss growing up in Mesquite, Nevada and later moving to Las Vegas, Nevada. The two then describe life during World War II, the increase of tourism in southern Nevada, and the significance gambling has to the growth of the Las Vegas economy.

Radio interview with Lee Plotkin and Alan Stock on KXNT-AM 840 radio on August 27, 2002. This interview was collected by Dennis McBride as part of the Las Vegas Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Oral History Project. The interview took place over the radio on KXNT-AM 840. Plotkin and Stock discuss Question 2 with the radio host, and take phone calls from listeners both for and against the ballot measure.

The project: to form the huge 15 ft. by 4 ft. letters of Pahrump on the side of the mountain (white-washed) for planes flying over to locate their position. Ronzone, Richard James, 1917-1989

Richard “Dick” J. Ronzone (1917-1989) was active in the local politics and civic affairs of Las Vegas, Nevada, serving as a Clark County Commissioner, a Nevada State Assemblyman, and a member of the University Board of Regents. He inherited and managed his family's retail store which dated back to the early 1900s. Ronzone also helped develop the Municipal Golf Course and was active in the Elks Lodge, Rotary Club, Veterans Of Foreign Wars, Reserve Officers Association, and the Boulder Dam Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
