From the Harvey's Hotel and Casino Postcard Collection (PH-00367) -- The Exchange Club in the colorful "old west" town of Beatty, Nevada, is a 3-way fun, food, and refreshment stop with its popular casino and bar and the adjoining family restaurant, the Amargosa Grill. In the center of Beatty, the Exchange Club is between Tonopah and Las Vegas and at the Eastern gateway into Death Valley National Monument.

From the Harvey's Hotel and Casino Postcard Collection (PH-00367) -- Caliente, named for its hot springs, is the largest city (pop. 1,200) in Lincoln County. The Mission-Style railroad depot was built in 1923. Amtrak trains stop daily with service to Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. The impressive structure also houses city offices, the Chamber of Commerce, and an art gallery.

Abstract

The Freda Klein Papers (1967-1997) include a detailed biography and personal reflection penned by Klein, as well as a photocopied scrapbook. The scrapbook is comprised of correspondence and newspaper clippings that detail her career with the State of Nevada Employment Security Department and volunteer work with the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, Private Industry Council, and Soroptimist International of Henderson, Nevada.

At the core of CityCenter is a transportation hub with pedestrians, autos, and tram traffic converging at one point as seen from the 32nd floor of the Monte Carlo hotel and casino. Design for the CityCenter project was a departure from contemporary casino resort property design popularized in Las Vegas.
