Whittemore, president of the Las Vegas Land and Water Company, stands at left with a pen in hand; to his left are auctioneer Ben E. Rhodes and a clerk.

Description
Hotel Las Vegas, located on North Main Street near Stewart Avenue. Charles "Pop" Squires (later editor of the Las Vegas Age) was the proprietor. Built in May 1905, it was torn down in March 1906.
