Oral history interview with Marienne Shaver conducted by her granddaughter, Alice Penwell, on March 21, 1977 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Shaver describes visiting and moving to Reno, Nevada from Michigan and later staying in Nevada to teach. Shaver talks about moving to Las Vegas, Nevada and being involved in the local girl scouts organization, church, and women's club. Lastly, Shaver discusses the growth of Las Vegas.

Oral history interview with Christopher Maestas conducted by Claytee White on September 14, 2008 for the Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Oral History Project. Maestas discusses the forms of entertainment in Henderson, Nevada; Catholicism at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Henderson in the 1960s and 1970s, and the Latinos United for Perfect Equality (LUPE) social club. He also considers the tension between “Chicanos” and Mexican-Americans.

In this interview, Ariki reflects upon his 30-year career as an elementary school teacher and administrator in Denver, Colorado from the 1950s to the 1980s. He describes the process by which he became a teacher and eventually an administrator, and describes his regular job duties and challenges that he faced. He also discusses the introduction of computers into the classroom, and technology’s impact on education. He also offers suggestions for individuals interested in pursuing school administration, and describes what he believes are the qualities of a successful school leader.

Oral history interview with Kathy Foster conducted by Cheryle Trupp on October 05, 2004 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Foster reflects upon her 30-year career as a teacher and administrator with Montana’s Bozeman Public Schools (BPS) and Nevada’s Clark County School District (CCSD). She discusses the different positions that she has held, and describes the process by which she moved from BPS to CCSD. She reflects upon some of her biggest accomplishments and challenges, offers her opinion on student ethics, violence, and curriculum changes, and describes what she believes makes an effective administrator.
