In this interview, Appuglise reflects upon her initial pursuit of school administration, and issues within the educational system that motivated her to pursue principalship. She describes her approach to educational leadership, and how her life experiences influenced that approach. She discusses parental involvement with schools, and the importance of administrators maintaining relationships with parents. She also describes her approach to creating a safe learning environment, and her role as an administrator in fostering that environment.
