Oral history interview with Darrel Waldthausen conducted by Gretchen Schroeder on May 10, 2008 for the History of Blue Diamond Village in Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, Waldthausen discusses his personal history and arriving to Blue Diamond, Nevada in 1946. He describes living in the Blue Diamond village and attending the Blue Diamond school. Waldthausen then talks about the operations that were done at the mines and recalls the separate village near the mines. Lastly, he discusses moving to Guatemala in 1972 after buying real estate and building a home.

Oral history interview with James Cavin conducted by Patricia Padilla on May 09, 2003 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Cavin reflects upon his career as an administrator with the Clark County School District (CCSD). He discusses his regular job responsibilities and challenges that he faced, and describes elements of his training that he feels were the most beneficial throughout his career.

Oral history interview with Valerie Tuftland conducted by Phyllis McKinnon on October 21, 1985 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Tuftland reflects upon her experience as a nurse practitioner in Las Vegas, Nevada. She discusses her training, challenges that she has faced throughout her career, and qualifications that she would look for in nursing candidates.

Oral history interview with Marienne Shaver conducted by her granddaughter, Alice Penwell, on March 21, 1977 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Shaver describes visiting and moving to Reno, Nevada from Michigan and later staying in Nevada to teach. Shaver talks about moving to Las Vegas, Nevada and being involved in the local girl scouts organization, church, and women's club. Lastly, Shaver discusses the growth of Las Vegas.

The collection is comprised of captured websites and Twitter data related to the mass shooting that occured at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 1, 2017. Captured websites are primarily comprised of articles and news stories from local, national, and international news media outlets. Websites were captured periodically from 2017 to 2018. The collection also includes Twitter data associated with the October 1 shooting that were captured via concurrent queries to the Twitter API for all Tweets containing the term “vegas” occuring September 29, 2017 to October 7, 2017. Also included are files containing tutorials for how to curate and analyze Twitter data which reference the 1 October Twitter dataset for illustrative purposes.

Oral history interview with Howard Booth conducted by Jeff van Ee on April 13, 2009 for the UNLV Libraries Oral History Collection. In this interview, Booth discusses environmental changes in Las Vegas, Nevada and addresses his concerns on the lack of environmental protection in southern Nevada. Booth describes the role politics has in environmental policies, his involvement in the establishment of federally protected areas, and his advocacy for public land uses.
