Oral history interview with Ron Slack conducted by John Wolf on February 19, 1981 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Oral history interview with Sherwin Garside conducted by David Anderson on March 25, 1976 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Garside discusses his father’s newspaper business and his personal knowledge of the early mining that took place in different parts of Nevada. He also talks about living in the town of Tonopah, Nevada, the Native Americans who lived in the area, and his experiences from living in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Oral history interview with Theodore Garrett conducted by Marilyn Swanson on March 2, 1975 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Garrett discusses moving to Las Vegas, Nevada to work for Six Companies during the construction of Hoover Dam, his job as a truck driver, the wages paid at the time, and the construction in Boulder City, Nevada. Garrett also mentions the food provided to the workers, the recreational activities available, and his family’s move to Boulder City.

Oral history interview with Ray Christian conducted by Russell Ellis on March 19, 1978 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Christian discusses race relations within schools, baseball teams, theatres, and Boy Scouts in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also talks about his custodial at the El Portal Theatre, the Las Vegas Westside neighborhood, and living through the Great Depression. Christian ends the interview discussing how white and black veterans helped improved race relations in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Oral history interview with Fenton Tobler conducted by Mark Oakden on April 24, 2002 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Tobler reflects upon his 31-year career as a teacher and administrator with Nevada’s Clark County School District from the 1960s to the 1990s. He discusses his development of year-round programs, as well as programs that he proposed before the Nevada State Legislature. He also discusses his working relationship with teachers, describes his approach to school administration, and offers suggestions for individuals interested in pursuing school administration.

Oral history interview with Alice Brumage conducted by Claytee D. White on January 30, 2019 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Brumage discusses her upbringing in Boulder City, Nevada and the construction of the Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam). She remembers her father’s involvement in the construction of the Dam, her parent’s membership in the Boulder City Rifle and Pistol Club, and the growth of Boulder City.
