Oral history interview with Albert Datke conducted by Joe Toscano on Octocber 2, 1972 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. He discusses atomic testing, economic and environmental changes, and getting to shake hands with President Eisenhower when he visited Las Vegas, Nevada. A Mormon and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Mr. Datke discussed having an active church and religious life, including serving as financial clerk and historian clerk for the church.

Oral history interview with Sarann Knight Preddy conducted by Yvonne R. Hunter on July 16, 1975 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Knight discusses her bar (The Lincoln Bar) in Hawthorne, Nevada and how she built it for the African American community because of limited access to venues due to segregation. Knight then talks about working with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the influence that gambling had on the community.

Oral history interview with Russell K. Grater conducted by Frederick Dougan on February 10, 1977 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Grater first talks about his move to the Southern Nevada area and his work that impacted the Hoover (Boulder) Dam project. He then talks about the town of St. Thomas, Nevada, the Lost City, and the activities of tourists. Grater also talks about his work in excavation, the indigenous American Indian tribes of the area, findings on petroglyphs, and the types of wildlife that were found in the area. He later talks about findings related to fossils, gold mining, the effects of World War II on the Hoover Dam project, and vegetation in the area.

Oral history interview with Roscoe Wilkes conducted by Claytee D. White on March 19, 2009 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Roscoe Wilkes discusses moving to Pioche, Nevada, being a PBX operation, working as a lead zinc miner, and teaching grade school. He also talks about enlisting into World War II, during which he was a prisoner of war in Romania. He then discusses enrolling in the University of Southern California School of Law, becoming a district attorney, and then a judge.

Oral history interview with Kenneth M. Daybell conducted by Patricia van Betten on April 05, 2010 for the History of Blue Diamond Village in Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, Daybell discusses his early life in Utah, his move to Nevada, and his work as a gypsum lath plant operator and truck driver at the Blue Diamond Mine. He talks about what life was like in a company town, from living in a company-owned mobile home to shopping at the company store, and the growth of the town during his residence. He also discusses driving to Las Vegas, Nevada with his family for occasional shopping trips and meals at the Showboat Hotel and Casino buffet.

Oral history interview with Steve Wynn conducted by David Schwartz on December 8, 2006 for the Remembering Jay Sarno Oral History Project. In this interview, Wynn discusses his relationship with Jay Sarno and Sarno's development of the Atlanta Cabana Motel in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as the early days of of Caesars Palace and Circus Circus in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Oral history interview with Robert Bunker conducted by Kent Harmon on October 11, 1972 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. This interview covers Mr. Bunker’s family life from Bunkerville to Las Vegas, Nevada. During the interview Robert discusses farming, religious life, and raising a family in Las Vegas. He also discusses the crash of Carole Lombard’s plane on Mount Potosi and describes McCarran Airport and Nellis Airport in the early days.
