Two cars outside frame building. Photo is accompanied by a Xerox copy of a newspaper clipping: "Help Us Write History; This photo bears the handwritten inscription '1913-1914 Round Mtn. Nevada;' the vehicle at rear bears a partly-blocked sign on the door advertising '...dfield ...tel.' If anyone knows anything about the automobiles, or anything else about the picture, please call UNLV Special Collections, 739-3252, 9 a.m. -4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday." Identified people at car on far right are Authur Ikonen, Anna Marie Lahti Ikonen, Irene Ikonen, and Oscar Ikonen.

From the Nye County, Nevada Photograph Collection (PH-00221) -- Series V. Smoky Valley, Nevada and Round Mountain, Nevada -- Subseries V.C. Lofthouse-Berg Families (Round Mountain). The house is made of 2 layers of the bottles with their necks facing inward; mud was used as mortar. In later years a corrugated tin roof was placed over the shingles, shown here. Bottles did not go far below ground level.
