Black and white image of Black Canyon, where Hoover Dam now is. Sharp hill showing in the background is Fortification Mountain on Arizona side of the river. Fortification is now about halfway covered by the waters of Lake Mead.

Ronnow, F. Lorin, (Francis Lorin), 1909-1987
Francis Lorin Ronnow was born on June 23, 1909 in Panaca, Nevada. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1928 where worked worked as a hoisting engineer during the construction of the Hoover Dam. Ronnow passed away on July 24, 1987.
