Oral history interviews with Gilbert C. Blaine conducted by Kenneth Fong on February 11, 1975 and March 10, 1975 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Blaine discusses the social and economic growth of Las Vegas, Nevada. He also discusses Boulder (Hoover) Dam, Boulder City, Nevada, Lake Mead, the Old Mormon Fort, and epidemics in Southern Nevada. Blaine also talks about organized crime and law enforcement in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Oral history interview with Joe Carlson conducted by Allen Carlson on October 11, 1972 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Joe Carlson talks about how his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1921 so that his father could work on the railroad. Joe discusses education, occupations, family life, and the social, economic and environmental changes of early Las Vegas. Joe also mentions presidential visits, the crash of Carole Lombard’s plane, early atomic tests, the old Mesquite forests, Fremont Street and the building of Boulder (Hoover) Dam.

Oral history interview with Therese Courture Thomas conducted by Roberta F. Zaplatilek on February 29, 1980 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Thomas discusses her family history and arriving to Boulder City, Nevada in 1930. Thomas describes housing in Boulder City and explains that people needed to build their own homes in the 1930s. She then discusses prostitution becoming illegal in Nevada, the Helldorado Parade, and the construction of Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam). Lastly, Thomas recalls how her musical career began and entertainment in casinos.

Oral history interview with Wilma (Billie) Mott Noyes conducted by Claytee D. White on April 11, 2007 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project.

In this interview, Billie Noyes shares the story of her family's arrival to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1921 by train and how they settled in the city after her father began working for the railroad. She talks about her childhood, education, and pastimes with her siblings. Noyes discusses her job at the personnel office of Boulder (Hoover) Dam, her marriage and time living in Reno, and her return to Las Vegas after her divorce in 1950. She recalls the various establishments and community locations she frequented as a young girl and the growth of Las Vegas with the development of casinos on the Las Vegas Strip.

The Glenn Davis Photograph Collection (approximately 1914-1960) depicts life in Southern Nevada and the American Southwest. The images were created or collected by Las Vegas photographer Glenn Davis and include images of the construction on the Hoover Dam (formerly known as the Boulder Dam), landscapes, gaming, and residents of the region.
