On October 18, 1974, James M. Greene interviewed news editor, Lorna Kesterson (born December 30th, 1925 in St. George, Utah) in her office in Henderson, Nevada. The two discuss Kesterson’s work in news editing as well as her original reasons for moving to Nevada. They also discuss teenage social life of Boulder city, during the 1940s.
The Las Vegas Valley photographs depict buildings and people in the Las Vegas Valley in Nevada from 1905 to 1919 and from 1940 to 1999. The photographs depict students at Nevada Southern University (predecessor of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas), the city of Las Vegas, and plants in Henderson, Nevada and Apex, Nevada.
Additional information from donor: Brittany McComb is interviewed in this NBC Today Show segment. The freedom of speech issue came about during Foothill High School (Henderson, Nevada) graduation ceremony, as school officials cut-off the microphone used by Valedictorian McComb when the content of her speech was proselytizing.
