The Las Vegas, Nevada Women's Softball Collection (1951-1952) contains photographic prints and negatives depicting a southern Nevada women's softball team. The team was sponsored by Wilson's Texaco Station in Boulder City, Nevada, and the women played in regional games in both southern California and southern Nevada. Photographs in the collection show the team practicing at Peterson Field in Boulder City, and celebrating and spending time together at the Mt. Charleston Lodge. The collection also contains copies of personal accounts written by team member Orpha Alveta Bowman (McBride), who recalls the prejudice some of the lesbian members faced from local community members. The originals of these handwritten accounts are held in MS-01099.

Oral history interview with Charles Santelman conducted by Catrina J. First on November 17, 2002 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Santelman reflects upon his 36-year career as a teacher and administrator with Nevada’s Clark County School District (CCSD). He discusses his teaching experience in Sandy Valley, Nevada, and compares it to teaching in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also describes the process by which he became an administrator and his working relationship with teachers and parents, and offers suggestions for individuals interested in pursuing school administration.

In this interview, Dr. Stichter reflects upon his career as a teacher and administrator in Southern California. He describes his motivations for becoming a principal, his regular responsibilities and challenges, and his working relationships with teachers, students, and other administrators. He also discusses his experience as an assistant superintendent, and compares it with his experience as a principal.

The administrative materials series for the League of Women Voters of Las Vegas Valley, Nevada contains annual reports, bylaws, membership lists, and treasurer reports from 1957 to 1993. These reports trace the administrative development of the League.

The political and topical endeavors series includes abortion and environmental pollution material from 1965 to 1993. The issue that occupied the greatest amount of the LWVLVV's time was that of school integration. The material predominately covers the 1960s and 1970s. There is also a small amount of information on the Yucca Mountain controversy in the 1980s and 1990s.

The Questionnaires series consists of political campaign questionnaires created by the LWVLVV between 1966 and 1975. The questionnaires were filled out by each person running for a state or national office in Nevada and provided a brief biographical sketch of the candidate and their position on relevant issues.

The publications series provides information on how to run a League, how to be an officer, and League positions on important issues from 1965 to 2006. Some of these publications were published by the National League, while others were created by the local League to address issues important to the Las Vegas Valley. The publication runs are incomplete.

The audiovisual, scrapbooks, and plaques series includes informational films and audio tapes, as well as scrapbooks commemorating the LWVLVV. The plaques display the community support and appreciation given to the League from 1969 to 1992. Some material has been digitized.
