After graduating from Bonanza High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, Gunter worked for Mercy Ambulance. He later worked as a paramedic at the Mercury Test Site, which helped pay for medical school at the University of Nevada.

Lowell Moody was fire chief of the Hawthorne Volunteer Fire Department in the 1940s, and his family has continued service at the Hawthorne Valley Fire Department in the following decades. Steve Moody, Rick Reuter, Barbara Reuter, Mark Nixon, Craig Nixon, Kyle Reuter, and Lindsey Reuter were interviewed for Elwood Schmidt's book "A History of Emergency Medical Services in Nevada Oral History Project."

Hardwick moved to Reno, Nevada in the 1970s. He has served as medical director for REMSA, Care Flight, Truckee Meadows Community College paramedic program, Sparks Fire Department, Central Lyon County Fire Protection District, and Story County Medical Director.

In 1990 Heidemann joined the Lovelock Volunteer Fire Department. He currently works at the Hawthorne Army Depot, Hawthorne Fire Department, and works as a Chief Training Officer and EMS Coordinator. He is also an instructor for the State Fire Marshall.
