Oral history interview with Mike Mullin conducted by Claytee D. White on September 06, 2019 for the Building Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Mullin discusses his early life in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1973. He recalls becoming a craps dealer, going into real estate, and establishing his company, Nevada Hand. Mullin talks about his company’s work to provide high-quality homes and supportive services for working families and seniors with fixed incomes. Lastly, Mullin describes the philanthropy behind his company and retiring from Nevada Hand.

Oral history interview with Michael Don Fraser conducted by Claytee D. White on September 15, 2017 and September 29, 2017 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In the first interview, Fraser discusses his early life in Osage County, Oklahoma. He talks about being a member of the Boy Scouts of America, attending the University of Tulsa, and his early interest in paper preservation. Fraser recalls working at his first conservation laboratory and repairing books. In the second interview, Fraser discusses digitization in his field of work, and the process of determining what items are worth repairing.

Oral history interview with Maxine and Jack Cason conducted by Claytee D. White and Stefani Evans on September 22, 1016 for the Building Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Jack discusses his early life in Oklahoma and arriving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1950. He recalls the formation of Saveway Super Service, Philips 66 service stations, the competition in the fuel industry, and the opening of the first Rebel service station. Jack talks about fuel terminals, fuel bulk plants, and becoming one of the largest fuel providers in southern Nevada. Later, Maxine and Jack talk about supporting local sports organizations. Lastly, Jack discusses his involvement in the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) Athletics Department, and being inducted into the UNLV Sports Hall of Fame.

Gellman Family Photograph Collection on the Flamingo Hotel

Abstract

The Gellman Family Photograph Collection on the Flamingo Hotel (approximately 1946-1950, 2009) contains photographs of the Gellman family at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada during the mid-to-late 1940s. The Gellman family owned a pharmacy that was located in the Flamingo Hotel. Other materials in this collection include two postcards of the Flamingo Hotel and one Fred Harvey Hotel Locations (California to Kansas) postcard. Also included is a newspaper clipping of the "House That Bugsy Built" article from the Las Vegas Review-Journal from 2009.
