A native of McGill, Nevada, Dunton began managing a group of physicians in 1962. In 1973, Dunton began EMT classes, and by 1982 had begun teaching the classes. He performed ambulance duties until 1993.

A native of Tonopah, Nevada, Fabbi worked for the Nevada Power Company after graduating high school in 1953. In 1961, he was badly burned, and when he returned to work he became the safety director. In the late 1960s, he began teaching at Clark County Community College.

A native of Hawthorne, Nevada, Ferrell joined the Mineral County Fire Department in 1977 and took EMT training in 1978. He worked for both the US Navy base in Hawthorne and the MCFD.
