Oral history interview with Ina Porter conducted by Claytee White on January 05, 2010 for the Voices of the Historic John S. Park neighborhood oral history project. Porter recalls moving to the John S. Park Neighborhood in the 1940s. She describes how they helped build the Mormon Church and the importance of the Latter Day Saints Church to the John S. Park Neighborhood. Lastly, Porter discusses the changes in the John S. Park Neighborhood over fifty years.

Oral history interview with Arlene and Nephi Potter conducted by Shirley A. Myers on July 07, 1975 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Arlene discusses her personal history, education, and church activities. Nephi then discusses his employment at the Basic Magnesium Plant and the two recall atomic bomb explosions at the Nevada Test Site. Later, Nephi and Arlene discuss Carole Lombard’s plane crash and the construction of Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam). Lastly, the two recall their experiences living in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In this interview, Prather discusses his childhood and personal history in Las Vegas, Nevada. Prather discusses his education, recreational activities he did as a child, and how Las Vegas has changed. Prather describes the swampy marshlands he used to play in near Las Vegas, viewing nuclear weapons tests and the nuclear fallout safety drills they would perform in school, and witnessing a plane crash in the North Las Vegas, Nevada area. Prather also discusses the arrival of Howard Hughes in Las Vegas and the effect he had on the city.

Oral history interviews with Sarann Knight Preddy conducted by Claytee D. White on June 05, 1997 and March 11, 1998 for the Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) Las Vegas Women Oral History Project. Preddy begins her interview by discussing her upbringing in Oklahoma. Preddy then talks about moving to Las Vegas in 1942 and her first job at the Cotton Club. She then discusses moving to Hawthorne, Nevada, buying her club, the Lincoln Bar, and working for the local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement Colored People (NAACP). Preddy also talks about gaining gaming licenses for her establishments and about the migration patterns of the African American community in Nevada. She describes the Westside community, education, and prejudice in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lastly, Preddy describes important places and people in the Las Vegas community.
