Lowell Moody was fire chief of the Hawthorne Volunteer Fire Department in the 1940s, and his family has continued service at the Hawthorne Valley Fire Department in the following decades. Steve Moody, Rick Reuter, Barbara Reuter, Mark Nixon, Craig Nixon, Kyle Reuter, and Lindsey Reuter were interviewed for Elwood Schmidt's book "A History of Emergency Medical Services in Nevada Oral History Project."

A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Holland began riding along with the fire department after 1970. She became the first woman to be licensed as an EMT after a course administered by the Clark County Health Department. She was also the first woman to finish the paramedic course at Clark County Community College.

Edwin "Flip" Homansky oral history interview, 2013 March 14

Homansky moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1979 and worked in the emergency rooms of Valley and Desert Springs Hospitals. In 1986 he joined the Clark County Medical Advisory Board and has served two terms as chairman.
