Oral history interview with Cindy Funkhouser conducted by Claytee White on January 14, 2010 for the Voices of the Historic John S. Park Neighborhood Oral History Project. Funkhouser discusses moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1980 and working as a cocktail waitress and a bartender at the Four Queens Hotel and Casino. She then discusses owning an antique shop and being one of the forces behind First Friday and the Las Vegas art movement that is rooted in the John S. Park Neighborhood's sense of community.

In this interview Lovell Gaines discusses his involvement with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), becoming president for the Las Vegas, Nevada chapter in 1980, segregation, Freedom Fund banquets, national conventions, police brutality, and housing issues in Las Vegas.

Oral history interview with Elaine and Robert Gallagher conducted by Rod Leavitt on an unknown date in 1974 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, the Gallaghers discuss moving to Southern Nevada with their families. Robert describes his father’s employment at Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam), and Elaine recalls the construction of the Basic Magnesium Plant in Henderson, Nevada. They describe above-ground atomic bomb testing, entertainment in Las Vegas, Nevada, and social life. Lastly, the two recall population growth in Las Vegas and the increase of casinos along the Strip.

Oral history interview with George and Theona (Toni) Garner conducted by Rod Leavitt on March 25, 1987 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In the interview, George Garner discusses his father, who was a Boulder (Hoover) Dam worker and was one of the first homesteaders in the Ash Meadows area in southern Nye County, Nevada. George also describes the Ash Meadows Lodge, which was intended to be a dude ranch by Las Vegas, Nevada promoters. Lastly, George Garner briefly discusses his early life and education in Las Vegas, Nevada. Toni Garner briefly discusses her early life in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Oral history interview with Perle Garrett conducted by Marilyn Swanson on March 02, 1975 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview Perle Garrett discusses Boulder City during the 1930s, the building of the Boulder Dam, Six Companies houses, family life, churches in Las Vegas, Nevada, and recreational activities for local children.

Oral history interview with Elizabeth Garrison conducted by Walter John Ritzau on February 25, 1977 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Garrison first talks about her schooling in Las Vegas, Nevada, the atomic testing, the Devils Hole in Ash Meadows, early church involvement, and some of the environmental aspects of Las Vegas. Garrison later describes her work for the Central Telephone Company and the Helldorado Parade.
