Oral history interview with Domingo Cambeiro conducted by Stefani Evans and Claytee D. White on October 18, 2016 for the Building Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Cambeiro discusses his upbringing in Havana, Cuba. He talks about his initial interests in architecture, starting his own architecture drawing service, and attending the University of Havana. Cambeiro recalls submitting a request to leave Cuba, emigrating to the United States, and arriving in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1962. Cambeiro talks about working with Las Vegas architect Julius Gabriel, obtaining his architecture license, and starting an architectural firm. Lastly, Cambeiro discusses being selected to create architectural drawings for the Thomas & Mack Center.

Oral history interview with John R. Klai II, FAIA conducted by Stefani Evans and Claytee D. White on August 15, 2016 for the Building Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Klai discusses his upbringing in North Dakota. He recalls attending the University of North Dakota and transferring to North Dakota State University to study architecture. Klai talks about moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in the late 1970s, and his employment at Marnell Corrao Associates. Klai describes founding an architecture firm, Klai Juba Wald Architects + Interiors in 1995, and talks about the firms involvement with the architecture program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Lastly, Klai discusses sponsoring a lecture series at UNLV, and awarding scholarships to UNLV architecture students.

Oral history interview with Patrick Gaffey conducted by Stefani Evans and Claytee D. White on August 19, 2016 for the Building Las Vegas Oral History Project. Gaffey discusses the McCarran airport redesign, Las Vegas-Clark County Library District building program, First Interstate Bank tower, and Clark County Government Center. He also discusses the redesign of the Maryland Parkway corridor and public art. Gaffey then talks about the City of Las Vegas Public Art Committee, Las Vegas City Hall art installation, and City of Las Vegas Maintenance and Operations.

Oral history interview with Randy Lavigne conducted by Stefani Evans and Claytee D. White on August 23, 2016 for the Building Las Vegas Oral History Project. Lavigne discusses working as the Executive Director of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Las Vegas since 1997. She also talks about the Fifth Street School’s plans to celebrate the AIA Chapter's sixtieth anniversary; the now defunct auxiliary organization, the Architects' Wives League, and various topics having to do with architecture as a profession and architectural firms.

Oral history interview with DeRuyter O. Butler conducted by Stefani Evans and Claytee D. White on September 15, 2016 for the Building Las Vegas Oral History Project. Butler begins with discussing his early life and joining Steve Wynn's Atlandia Design in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1982. He then talks about moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1986. The interview focuses on the design and development of various Las Vegas casinos.

Oral history interview with Walter Zick conducted by Maureen Kelly Ryan on February 22, 1977 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Zick discusses architecture and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada to work at the Basic Magnesium Plant.

The collection is comprised of architectural drawings (1952-1997) completed by American architect, Ethan Jennings Jr. and/or his architectural firm, Ethan Jennings Jr., AIA, CSI and includes Jenning's work from the firm of John Badgley, AIA, where Ethan Jennings Jr. worked in Southern California during the 1950s, as well as work Jenning's completed with Americo Inc., and Tolosa Group. The collection contains 217 sets of drawings, 6 boxes of project records, and 8 flat files of oversized material from over 200 different projects primarily located in California with some projects located in the Las Vegas area. The materials feature hand-drawn architectural drawings, ranging from preliminary sketches to construction documents. The drawings also contain work from consultants, engineers, and other architects who collaborated on the development of the various projects. The drawings include: commercial, industrial, professional, civic, residential, and religious buildings of varying scales, such as libraries, apartments, warehouses, office developments, schools, military buildings, churches, and custom single-family homes located throughout California and Las Vegas. The drawings also include a number of additions, remodels, and renovations. The collection also contains project records like structural calculations and drawings, project manuals and specifications, bid documents, and professional correspondence.
